Visitors are invited to an "Above and Beyond" experience at the Silicon Valley Open Studios event at the Bayview Studio. Guests will become a part of creating a Jackson Pollock-"like" action painting which will be given away in a drawing on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 4 p.m.
New works from Noreen Christopher and Jeanette Turkus will be featured in the studio at 31 Bayview Avenue (between Bean Avenue and Main Street).

"Walking into Fall" by Noreen Christopher is a visual delight that mesmerizes and pulls one in. One wonders how a feeling of calm and tranquility can emanate from a painting with such vibrant colors. I loved that the landscape seems to be on fire with fall colors, yet the trees are still green -- magical. The artist shows a perfect control in the diction of painting yet at the same time the work has an incredible spontaneous feel.
About the Judge: Karen Gutfreund is an artist and art consultant/curator, exhibiting in the Bay Area and NY and has curated dozens of exhibitions. She worked at MoMA NYC in the Painting & Sculpture Department for the Andre Emmerick Gallery and The Koll Group. Karen is actively involved on the board of various arts organizations, creating her own work and promoting the work of other artists.
